Entered into Life September 6, 1935. In Delores, Texas Entered into Eternal Life February 15, 2025
Mrs. Maria M. Perez Roskos, also known as "Minnie" 89, of Hubbard, Texas and Calhan, Colorado, passed away Saturday,February
15, 2025, at her home in Hubbard, Texas with her two daughters, Sherry and Tes by her side. Minnie was born September 6, 1935 in
Delores, Texas to Paulino and Andrea Cantu Perez. She was raised in Laredo, Texas and was the oldest daughter of eight children.
Minnie graduated from Martin, High in Laredo, Texas. Soon after she would meet the love of her life, Joseph E. Roskos while he was stationed
at the Air Force Base in Laredo. On September 16, 1956, Joe and Minnie were married in Laredo, but would move to Calhan, Colorado where
Joe was born and raised to live and start a family of their own. Joe and Minnie had four children, Bob, Sherry, Dave and Tes (Teresa). Minnie
made sure her children got to do and have what they wanted, whether it was playing an instrument, playing sports, whatever it may be and if it
meant she worked extra she did just that. They never went without much. Minnie's mother was a post master in Texas and she followed with
started out working as a rural carrier in Calhan, Colorado for many years, and would move on up to delivering mail in Colorado Springs, while Joe worked at
the main post office in Colorado Springs. They would both retire from the Postal Service. They would spend their winters in Texas and their
summers in Colorado.
Anyone who knew Minnie, Loved Minnie. She never met a stranger and was always helping others in need and just because she cared. She had
so many friends all over because she had a huge heart full of love for everyone. Minnie loved traveling and she and Joe would take vacations as
often as they could. Minnie would drive from Texas to Colorado just to make sure she didn't miss her "club" with the girls. She had to make sure her
"secret pal" got her gift!! Minnie even got her driver's license renewed in September 2024, at the age of 89 and passed without any problems.
Minnie drove to meet family just two weeks before she passed just to have lunch, and nothing could keep this lady from seeing her family.
Minnie didn't look 89 nor act like 89. She was so full of energy and at the end of the day she would be the last one standing. She loved sports and
watching her Teams, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and the Colorado Rockies. She also loved watching her
favorite sports players, her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they had games, whether it was in Colorado or Texas she made sure she
saw her "babies" play ball. She looked forward to her trips back to Calhan for "club" with the girls. She loved cooking for everyone and if you ever
had Minnie's cooking you always went back for more. At special occasions (Thanksgiving/Christmas) she would have the children, grandchildren and
Great grandchildren over making Tamales, she took turns going to her children's houses for Christmas and made sure they were equally loved.
Whenever a baby sitter was in need, Minnie was there. Her kids and grandkids would call her Nanie and they looked forward to all the Holidays because
they knew they would be getting together with Papa Joe and Nanie. Minnie was such a great Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Nanie and
Person.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Paulino and Andrea, her loving husband, Joseph E. Roskos, sons, Bob and Dave Roskos, granddaughter, Sloane Mills,
her siblings Paulino jr., Sylvia, Alonzo, Oscar, Omar and Lily.
So many people from all over this World will miss her to include her family. She brightened up the darkest days. Minnie was a devout Catholic and
attended several Catholic Churches depending where she was and even if it meant stopping in a town she wasn't familiar with but wanted to make sure
she went to mass, she would stop in as if she was from that town, and you can best believe she made several friends before she left town.
Minnie would talk about so many of her friends, and they should know she loved them all. These would include all of her card club friends, and shopping
for her "secret pal", Millie and LIsa M., Virgil and Lorraine M., Scott, Elaine W, Lana, Ski and Ruthie, Wilma, Polly and Janie, Donna, Carcy, Luke,
