View Video Tribute Marshia Rhea Nienhuser, age 83 of Limon, Colorado passed away June 29, 2007 in Limon. Marshia was born September 20, 1923 in Deer Trail, Colorado to John Logan and Margaret Amenia (Dillon) Martin. She was one of eight children. Her father passed away when Marshia was thirteen; all the children had to work hard to help their mother and each other to survive during the Great Depression. Marshia graduated from Agate High School in 1941, and moved to Pueblo, CO to attend beauty school. After receiving her cosmetology license, she moved back to Limon where she met Wilbur Fred Nienhuser. The couple married on September 28, 1944 in Goodland, Kansas. Wilbur and Marshia had 62 years together; they were separated only when Wilbur passed away in January, 2007. Marshia enjoyed gardening, sewing, and China painting. Many of her friends have special pieces she painted for them. She also was an active “ranch Hand, helping both Wilbur and James. Marshia was the owner/operator of Cut ‘n Curl Beauty Shop in downtown Limon. She made lots of friends and had many faithful customers who would go to no one else. Marshia also loved the action in Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and especially Las Vegas, where many memorable trips were made with Wilbur, Bob and Shirley, and Marshia’s special friend, Thelma Liles. Marshia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant child Bobby, five brothers, (Charles, Donald, John, Roy, and Ray), one sister Evelyn. Marshia is survived by her daughter Shirley and husband Bob Little of Helena, Montana; son James and wife Janet and their children Jessie and Janice Nienhuser of Limon, Colorado, sister and life-long friend, Ruth Rendon of Agate, Colorado and a sister-in-law Mary Shinn of Lamar, Colorado. Also surviving are numerous nephews, nieces and extended family. Marshia will be remembered for her love of hugs, girlish giggle, her favorite saying, We can’t have everything, can we, and her favorite red hat and coat. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Limon with Pastor Jerry Allen, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pershing Memorial Cemetery.
