Martha Scott

Martha Joyce Scott, age 63, of Englewood, Colorado passed away in her home on December 16, 2005. Martha was born April 12, 1942 in Colby, Kansas to James G. and Edith Marie (Timm) Carstens. The family moved to Limon, Colorado in 1946 where Martha attended school and studied the piano to become an accomplished pianist. Her talent was enjoyed through the years at many church functions and weddings and during personal appearances at nursing homes and social events. Martha’s passing comes following two years of surgery and convalescence at her home where she had been in the loving care of her sister Maurine and son Daniel. Martha was preceded in death by per parents, her brother Joseph and her son James. Martha is survived by her daughter Marcella Gregg and grandsons Lucas, James and Michael of Cincinnati, Ohio, her granddaughter, Amy Scott-Vega of Chicago, Illinois and her son, Daniel Holstien of Arvada, Colorado. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Pickens of Cincinnati, Ohio, Maurine Onat of Centennial, Colorado and Carla Carstens of Aurora, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family memorial is planned for a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church, 408 H Avenue, Limon, CO 80828.
