Martha “Marty” Jean Schrimp age 60 of Wild Horse, Colorado passed away November 11, 2012 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born January 15, 1952 in Flagler, Colorado the daughter of Curtis Leroy and Claire Leona (Golberg) Schrimp. She graduated from Kit Carson High School in 1970. She also attended the University of Colorado for a couple of years and continued her education on various computer information courses throughout her life. Martha was employed most of her life at K.C. Electric Company for over thirty years in Hugo, Colorado. She managed the billing department and many other duties in the office and considered the employees at K.C. Electric her extended family. Marty’s faith in Christ and her close relationship and commitment to the members of the Lutheran church in Wild Horse were central to her life. Marty had a rancher’s heart and her love for the land and her animals was her everything. She took much joy in doing simple chores on the ranch and especially raising her cattle which was not always simple. She collected all kinds of antiques and had a knack for restoring old furniture. Marty loved her community, her animals, living on the ranch, and most of all her family. Marty’s love and spirit will continue on in all of her family and friends’ lives forever… Marty was preceded in death by her mother, Leona; and an infant brother, David. She is survived by her father, Curtis Schrimp of Wild Horse, Colorado; one sister, Leeann M. Helle (John) of Halse, Norway; one brother, Steven W. Schrimp (Deb) of Lakewood, Colorado; five nieces, Amanda Young (Craig) of Denver, Natalie Benallo (Gian) of Huber Heights, Ohio and Kirsti, Jessi, and Jenni Helle all of Halse, Norway; one nephew Nathan Schrimp (Berenice) of Denver, Colorado; thirteen great nieces and nephews, and her dog, Rusty.
