Maxine M. Chandler

June 19, 1926 — May 11, 2018

Maxine Marie Chandler passed away May 11, 2018 at the Genesis Assisted Living Center in Lafayette, CO.

Maxine Marie Iseman Chandler was born June 19, 1926, south of Stratton, Colorado to parents Ralph and Josie Iseman.  It was told that she was measured by a shoe box, and she fit!  She was so tiny she would fit in a tea cup.  Her sisters Loraine and Agnes wanted their mom to use their doll clothes on her.  Her mom said, “No, but they could help make clothes for her”.

Maxine graduated from high school in 1944 at First Central near Stratton. Co.

In 1946 Maxine moved to Burlington, CO.  She made a lot of new friends after moving to town. One of those new friends was a good looking young man, Jake, who came into the drugstore where she worked.  Jake was called to report to the army so they decided to wait to get married until he got out of the service.  They got married November 23, 1947 in Simla, Co.  Jake and Maxine farmed and worked in the Burlington area until they moved to Denver in 1957.

Jake and Maxine had two sons, Gary and Les.

In Denver Maxine worked at J. C. Penney’s, and Children’s Hospital.  She also traveled with Jake through 46 states delivering roofing equipment for the company he worked for.    In these travels they made many friends and visited relatives when the opportunity allowed.   Her last job was at Cobe lab where she tested equipment used in kidney, heart and lung replacements.  She retired from Cobe Laboratories in 1986.

In their retirement Jake and Maxine enjoyed traveling with family and friends.  Their two favorite trips were to Italy and the Alaskan cruise.  She loved family and enjoyed the family reunions.  She stayed in touch with the relatives and many friends through the years.

As Maxine said, “I’ve had a pretty good life”.  What made it so good was all the quality time spent with the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, family and friends.  She loved to play all kinds of games with the kids and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jake, all of her brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws   and sister-in-laws of the Iseman and Chandler families.

Maxine is survived by her sons Gary (Linda) of Fort Lupton, CO. and Les (Dee) of Denver, CO., 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Special thanks to the Genesis Assisted Living Center for the loving and special care they gave her the last few months of her life.
