Michael Patterson

Michael E. Patterson, 58, of Simla, CO passed away December 19, 2009 after a car accident. Michael was born on December 17, 1951 in Kansas City, KS to Earl and Geneva (Knechtenhofer) Patterson, he was one of two children. Michael graduated from Jefferson High School, Wheatridge, CO in 1970. He was a drywaller by trade and loved being self employed. He was a father to two children; son, Michael Patterson, Jr. of Ordway, CO and daughter, Katie Patterson of Simla, CO. Michael enjoyed every aspect of football. He loved watching, playing, coaching and especially following his number one team, the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent his leisure time white water rafting and camping with his family. His grandchildren were very special to him, and he loved spending time watching them grow. Michael had a great sense of humor and he shared it with everyone he met. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother and one brother, David Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Vandenburg, of Simla, CO; his son, Michael Jr., of Ordway, CO; and daughter, Katie and her husband Dale, of Simla, CO. Michael is also survived by his grandchildren, Dustin and Brianna Patterson and Dallas and Casey Patterson; and Uncle Ernie Knechtenhofer.
