Nathan James Einertson, 96, of Loveland, Colorado passed away on June 15, 2013. Nate was born December 11, 1916, at his parents home on a farm in the Walks Camp, Colorado community. Nate was baptized and confirmed into the body of Christ at Walks Camp Lutheran Church of Genoa, Colorado.
He married Ida Marie Blakstad on April 14, 1939 in Denver, Colorado and the couple was blessed with one son Norman. All their married life they attended the Zion Lutheran Church in Limon, Colorado.
Nate served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII. Nate returned to Limon after the war and opened the Limon Plumbing shop. He was a Charter member of the Limon Lions Club. Nate, together with Floyd Mock, barbecued for special events throughout the county for many years. He was an avid supporter of Limon sports activities, especially hauling Limon football uniforms. Nate was also an active Boy Scout Leader for many years and a member of the V.F.W. Nate and Ida opened their home to many area girls to live with them over the years and unofficially adopted them as their own.
Nate was preceded in death by his wife Ida, parents Alfred and Olga (Knutson) Einertson and brother Orin.
He is survived by son Norman and wife Janice, four grandchildren Gwyn Einertson (Monte Dewey), Dr. Travis (Marlene) Einertson, Kristine (Quinn) Smith and Tara (Dr. Nicolas) David, brother Adrien, eleven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
