Paul D. Rogers

Paul De F. Rogers was born on January 27, 1940, in Saugus, Colorado, to Claude and Hester Rogers. He departed this life on January 13, 2025, at the age of eighty-four.

Paul attended high school in Arriba, Colorado, graduating in 1958. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Brush, Colorado, where he eventually met and married Margaret Nichols.

After dedicating 25 years as a foreman for Platte Valley Construction Company, Paul returned to Flagler, Colorado, to fulfill his lifelong dream of living in the country and raising livestock.

He was employed by McCormick Farms and in his spare time, enjoyed raising hogs. Paul earned a good reputation for his exceptional swine herd and was well-known for selling butcher hogs to people in the community. He also took pride in supporting local youth by providing hogs for their 4-H projects.

Paul was a passionate sports fan who especially loved watching the Denver Broncos. Known as a walking statistics book, he had an incredible ability to recall plays and key takeaways from any game he discussed.

Along with his love of sports, Paul treasured the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and competing in trap shooting events. During retirement, he found joy in gardening, tinkering in his yard, and caring for his chickens, ducks, and stray cats that found their way to him.

Paul lived his life with honesty and integrity. He held strong values and was well-liked by everyone who knew him. Paul had incredible patience and always made time to help others. He was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him, and his time on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.

His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and countless others whose lives he touched. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and the profound impact it had on those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Margaret and four children: Donna Reese and husband David, Mark Rogers and wife Susie, Steve Nichols and wife Marcelina and Tommie Nichols. Paul is also survived by three grandchildren: Kim and husband Josh, Mike and wife Colleen, and Marcus. Additionally, he leaves behind six cherished great grandchildren: Alyssa, Kennedy, Ashton, Cole, Sophie and Conner.

He is also survived by his sister Donna Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Sr and Hester Rogers; brother, Claude Jr Rogers; his sisters, Betty Smith, Marilyn Henningson, Sylvia Palmer, Beulah Richardson; his late wife Kathy Rogers; and his grandson George Robles.
