Ralph Magnus

Ralph Ernst Magnus, 92, of Limon, Colorado went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ralph was born to Martin Magnus and Edna (Beckler) Magnus on October 8, 1920 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado one of ten children. Ralph graduated High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado at W.J. Palmer High School in 1940. After graduation Ralph served his country in World War II, serving three years in Army Anti-Aircraft outfit from 1942-1945 in North Africa, Italy and Sicily as Staff Sergeant. Ralph married Ruth Bradberry in Simla, Colorado on December 18, 1945 and the couple was blessed with two children. After Ruth passed away in Oct 1976 Ralph married Dorothy Hendrix in November of 1977 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ralph was a rancher and a cowboy all his life. He managed the Forristall Ranch near Hugo for many years. He loved fishing, football, and horseback riding. Ralph attended and was part of the Hi Plains Baptist Church family in Limon, Colorado. He served a number of years as Republican Precinct Committee member and also served as Lincoln County Land Use Committee member. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruth, siblings; Roy, Lucille and Joan, and great granddaughter Katie. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Magnus of Limon, Colorado and his children; Ron and Patty Magnus of Black Forest, Colorado and Elaine and Leonard Vose of Duncanville, Texas. Ralph is also survived by his brothers Dale Magnus of Pinehurst, Idaho; Earl Magnus of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Wayne and Betty Magnus of Hayden Lake, Idaho; sisters; Norma Watson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Verna Orr of Hampstead, North Carolina; and Marvel and Ron Wellborn of Colorado Springs, Colorado along with five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
