Robert Lee Belveal of Matheson was born on August 16, 1934 in Eastern Elbert County to Ellis (Bob) and Gladys Belveal on the family farm. He was delivered by his grandfather Dr. Johnson. The story is told that grandfather picked up the new baby boy and let him grab the light fixture, where he hung for a short period of time. He passed away at home at the age of 90

Bobbie was taken care of by his 13 yr. old sister, Marguerite (Peggy) to help out mother, who was deaf. Being raised on a productive farm, Bobbie learned how to work with all the animals they produced on the farm. He always had a dog with him, teaching them how to climb ladders and ride horses. When he was 7 yr, old his sister got married to Alvin Green., giving Bobbie some nephew playmates. At 8 yr. old the family moved into Limon where Bobbie learned the way he had to combat the school boys. Being a new boy in school he was teased mercilessly. He followed Daddy's advice and gave them what they gave him. That stopped the teasing.

Bobbie began the work at age 14, working with neighbors, helping harvest corn, shock feed, herd the cattle, delivering calves; all the farm work necessary to make a living. He became lifelong friends with those neighbors he worked with.

His schooling was the various country schools near his home, finally graduating from Central School in the Kutch area. His father was ill so Bobbie with the help of his mother got a correspondence high school diploma from the American School of Chicago, so he could carry on the farm work

Finally, Bob's folks encouraged him to get out and socialize. He had the hottest car in the neighborhood so he became the official chauffeur, taking young people around to the activities. He recently commented that he never lost a drag race.

Two neighbor college boys, Bob and Ralph Altstadt, frequently were participants in some of the local activities. They had a sister who watched these young men in their socializing. Marjory was old enough to go to the local dances with her brother Bob, and watch the curly-haired, blue-eyed neighbor.

Thus began a 63- year tife together in the same home he grew up in. Bob served as Deacon, and Sunday school teacher at Central Bible Church; Elbert County Farm Bureau county president, School board president and ASCS board member. Of course, the farm/cattle operation went on as always. His sons learned the same things Bob learned adding to that the Sports at Simla High school . The only daughter in the family provided the music to make the world harmonious.

Robert was preceded in death by father, Ellis Orville Belveal, mother, Gladys Johnson Belveal, sister, Marguerite (Peggy) Green, brother- in- law, Alvie Green; and great grandson, David Robert Belveal.

Robert leaves behind his wife, Marjory, son Jeffrey, wife Laura and children, Jeffrey, wife Lavender, and children, Anna, Johnathan and Jeffery David, step grandson, Christian; Jackie, husband Tyler Snyder and children, Callen and Samuel; daughter Susan and Pat Weaver, son Benjamin and wife Kate; son Chad and Amy, children Robert, Samantha and, children Skyler and Jaxon; Amy's children Joey, Ashley and Hayley; Kai; Tory and wife Megan, son, Cade and son, James and children, Bayden and Johnna; his constant companion, Tom, the Jack Russel Terrier; as well as nephews Melvin and Roger Green and families. And other nieces and nephews and friends.

Bob was a quiet, observant individual, always standing on the edge of crowds just listening. He had a heart big enough to care for the many widows in our community and offered prayers on their behalf.
