Ronald Rice

Biography Ronald Colburn Rice, age 70, formerly of Strasburg, CO, passed away February 25, 2010 at the Brighton Care Center in Brighton, CO. Ronald was born October 5, 1939 in Denver, CO to parents Vern S. and Gladys (Baxter) Rice. He was one of six children. Ronald grew up in the Strasburg area, where he enjoyed working on the family farm. He graduated from Strasburg High School in 1959. On August 15, 1964, Ronald married Eleanor. The family made their home in rural Strasburg. Throughout the years, Ronald worked as a truck driver for an oil refinery in Commerce City, CO and was also employed at the Tomahawk Truck Stop in Watkins, CO. In his free time, Ronald enjoyed boating and waterskiing, driving trucks, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerald. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Rice of Littleton, CO; son Kevin (Suzannah) Rice of Mal Asia ; daughters Karen Petersen and David Ewert of Littleton, CO and Kim Kauffman of Byers, CO; brothers Robert (Shirley) Rice of Peublo West, CO and Richard Rice of San Tee, CA; sisters Jean (Harry) Dockstader of Strasburg, CO and Betty Sexton of Broomfield, CO; six grandchildren, Ceri, Cody, Sarah, Kelsey, Brian and Hamzah; as well as two great grandchildren, Kyla and Adam.
