Roscoe Hoffman

April 20, 1932 — February 20, 2016

Roscoe E. Hoffman of Limon peacefully passed away at the Care Center in Hugo, Colorado on February 20, 2016. The son of Chester and Neva Hoffman, he was born in rural Stevens County Kansas near Hugoton on April 20, 1932. Roscoe moved to Colorado in 1947 where he farmed with his Dad between Vona and Stratton and later North of Arriba, Starting In 1952 he served in the Army in Japan and Korea with several of his friends. After leaving the Army he helped build Interstate Highway 25 and farmed near Matheson. He later went to Washington where he worked for Boeing Aircraft, other manufacturers and custom harvesting. In 1977 Ross returned to Limon to help care for his Mother and worked various jobs until his retirement. He remained in Limon until moving to the Care Center in Hugo in December 2015. He is survived by his sister, Karen Stevens of Byers, Colorado and her husband Glen, Nephew Doug Stevens and his wife Lisa of Billings, Montana, Nephew Travis Stevens and his sons, Levi and Wyatt of Kearney, Nebraska, two aunts, Betty Wilkerson of Turpin, Oklahoma, Margaret Burrows of Hugoton, Kansas, and one uncle Bill Lewis of Optima, Oklahoma, and numerous cousins. His family and friends will remember him for his good heart, love of gardening, and coin collecting.
