View Video Tribute Rose Lillian Pickenpaugh, 82 of Rush, CO passed away on December 29, 2008. Rose was born on December 31, 1925 along with her twin sister Ruth at home to Louis and Marie (Brugman) Timmerman in Hudson, CO. Rose’s mother died when the twin girls were eight days old. She was raised by her Aunt Ella and Uncle John Timmerman. Rose grew up in Brighton, CO attending school in Brighton graduating from High School in 1943. Rose married Dane Atwater February 20, 1944 to this union was born John Dane and Donna Marie. They later divorced and Rose married J.R. Pickenpaugh in Colorado Springs, CO in March of 1976. They ranched on the ALT ranch (Durkee) at Hall Station. Rose enjoyed horses and cattle and loved her animals. She enjoyed wood crafts and was very talented in this area. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Marie her twin sister Ruth her husband Jim and son John Atwater. Rose is survived by her daughter Donna Grisham (Larry) of Kutch, CO, grandsons; Adrian Dane Pickenpaugh (Lisa) of Rush, CO, Jerry (Laura) Atwater of N. Punkin Center, CO, James (Diane) Atwater of Mesa, AZ and step-son Dan and his wife Betty Pickenpaugh of Elizabeth, CO. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Hunter, Hayden, Lacee, Shania and Jerra and her daughter-in-law Nancy Atwater.
