Roy Pearl Elliston September 19, 1946 – January 13, 2025
Roy Pearl Elliston, 78, of Flagler, Colorado, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 13, 2025.
Born and raised in Flagler, Colorado, Roy entered the world on September 19, 1946, the son of Marjorie Louceil Elliston and James Franklin Elliston. A true adventurer at heart, Roy spent his career in the oil and gas industry, a path that led him to explore over 127 countries. His travels painted the canvas of a life lived fully, including memories of exploring the Middle East during an era much different from today. No matter the challenges he faced, Roy was known to say, “Gotta keep climbing up that mountain,” a reflection of his resilient and determined spirit.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Christina; his siblings Ruby Dieckman, Dolly Elliston-Sharpe, and Cordell Elliston; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents and beloved son, Jorey Franklin Elliston.
Standing tall at 6 feet 8 inches, Roy was a gentle giant in every sense of the word. Roy will be remembered for his boundless kindness, his selfless spirit, and his treasure trove of stories that captured the magic of his travels. He found joy in cooking for his loved ones and spending the winter weekends watching football. Above all, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, a quality that left a lasting impact on everyone.
His kindness, love, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A graveside service will be held this spring.
