View Video Tribute Longtime Stratton, Colorado resident Stephen Robert Conrads passed away on September 30, 2006 at the Keefe Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne Wells. He was 55 years old. Stephen was born on August 4, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Bernard and Doris Bickel Conrads. He was one of six children. He married Deborah Courtright on May 12, 1973 in Stratton, Colorado at the Church of God. To this union two children Melody and David were born. Steve graduated from Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas on May 26, 1971. He served in the United States Air Force from October 21, 1971 to December 3, 1975. He was given the rank of Sergeant on December 1, 1973. He went to the Northwest Kansas Area Vocational – Technical School to major in electronics and graduated on May 26, 1978. For the last nine years he worked for the Colorado Department of Corrections at the prison in Limon, CO. He is preceded in death by his mother Doris Conrads, father-in-law Dale Courtright and great niece Alaina Richards. Stephen is survived by his wife Deborah of the home, two children Melody Sinclair and husband Robert of Highlands Ranch, David Conrads and fiancé Jill Eisenbart of Fort Collins, Colorado, one grandchild Ethan Sinclair, three brothers Mike Conrads and wife Lynn of Sisters, Oregon, Paul Conrads and wife Linda of Longview, Texas, Phillip Conrads and wife Julie of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, two sisters Carol Church and husband Tom of Longview, Texas and Karen Brundrett and husband Paul of Scurry, Texas. Memorial services for Stephen were held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Stratton Church of God with Pastor Dustin Sells officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the Keefe Memorial Hospital or the Stratton Church of God and may be left at the First National Bank, Stratton, Colorado.
