Teresa Marie Luebbers of Limon, CO passed away November 22, 2005 at the Prairie View Care Center at the age of 103 years.
Teresa was born in Odin, Kansas on June 21, 1902 the last of eight children born to Karl and Anna Werner. She attended school through the 8th grade in Odin, Kansas. Teresa married John H. Luebbers on June 6, 1922 in Odin, Kansas and to this union eight children were born.
John and Teresa lived in Stratton, CO in the 1940âs raising their family but after Johnâs death in 1959 Teresa moved to Flagler, CO where she stayed until moving to the Care Center in Limon.
Teresa was a devout Catholic serving for many years in the Altar Rosary Society in both St. Charles Catholic Church in Stratton and St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Flagler. She enjoyed making things with her hands, crocheting and other crafts. Teresa always had a garden and from the fruit of her labor she did a lot of canning. She enjoyed playing cards; pinnacle, pitch and canasta. Teresa was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by many.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband; John, son; Roch, grandchildren; John Luebbers, Rochie Luebbers, Patrick Curvey and Kenny Curvey, great-grandchildren; Paul and Mark Jones and son-in-laws; George Eder and Lester Curvey.
Teresa is survived by daughters; Virginia Eder of Flagler, CO, Mary Ann (Vince) Wimmer of Flagler, CO, Bernetta Curvey of Morrisonville, IL, Janet (Jack) Bancroft of Seibert, CO, sons; Paul (Millie) Luebbers of Castle Rock, CO, John (Katy) Luebbers of Wray, CO, Tom (Delores) Luebbers of Westminster, CO. One daughter-in-law Mary Lou Luebbers of Westminster, CO. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
The Rosary was held Friday, November 25, 2005 at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Flagler, CO. at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass for Teresa was held at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Stratton, CO at 9:30 A.M. with Father George Fagan officiating. Burial followed at the Calvary Cemetery in Stratton, CO.
