Tomas Sanchez, age 74, of Burlington, CO passed away August 28, 2016 in Littleton, CO.
Tomas was born to parents Pablo and Oralia (Villarreal) Sanchez on May 27, 1942 in San Benito, Texas. He was one of twelve children.
On November 17, 1962 Tomas married Maria (Gonzalez) Sanchez in McCook, NE. To this union five children were born. The family made their home in Nebraska before moving to Burlington in 1969.
Tomas was a faithful employee of Plains Grain Coop where he worked for 25 years. After that, Tomas by employed by United Farms for 21 years. He loved fishing, gardening and working in the yard around his home in his free time. He enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels that came to visit.
Tomas was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers, Ray, Ruben, Paul and Michael; one sister, Lupe; and his great granddaughter, Angel Mia Gonzalez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Sanchez of the home; his three sons, Eliseo Sanchez of Burlington, Carlos (Bernadine) Sanchez of Burlington, Tomas (Erika) Sanchez, Jr. of Andrews, TX and nephew Renaldo Sanchez, Jr. of Hastings, NE; his two daughters, Elizabeth (Isidro) Martinez of Amarillo, TX and Josephine Sanchez of Burlington; three brothers, Joe Sanchez of Burlington, George Sanchez of Central City, NE and Ernesto Sanchez of Burlington; three sisters, Juana Sanchez and Maria Sanchez both of Chicago, IL and Virginia Sanchez of Burlington; as well as 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
