Tony Mills, age 65, was taken way too soon in a tragic boating accident on July 9th at John Martin Reservoir.
Tony was quite the guy. He said what he thought and didn’t back down from his beliefs. Tony loved German Wirehair Pointers, who were his best pheasant hunting buddies. Tony had a heart of gold, and he was the type of guy who would give the shirt off of his back if he could help someone. He liked to go on spur-of-the-moment trips, and one of his favorite places was Deadwood, SD. He liked to drive and drove fast, so the trips were usually shorter than most people. Tony always had a joke to crack to make people laugh.
Tony was born September 13th in Murray, UT, to Dell Mills and Barbara Timothy. He had three siblings: an older brother, Randy, an older sister, Denise, and a younger brother, Kevin. Tony spent his teenage years in Fairview, UT, where his grandparents lived. Growing up, he got into his fair share of mischief, making him a local legend in Fairview.
In 1979, Tony married Pam Kramer in Cody, WY. They were blessed to have just celebrated 45 years of marriage. They had just gotten back from an Alaskan cruise to celebrate the anniversary.
Tony is blessed with two boys, Cody(Cathy) and Kelby (Sonya), and six grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Kandess (20), Brock (18), Haxden (16), Ace (13), Khalie (10), and General (7).
He was preceded in death by his father, Dell Mills; his in-laws, Norman and Betty Kramer; his grandparents, Frank and Ora Mills and Roe and Josephine Olson; and two of his best friends, Red Rowe and Dave Boylan.
Tony died doing what he loved, but his family and friends in the Colorado and Utah communities are left to grieve his loss. Still, they will keep his memory alive with their own fishing, hunting & ornery activities.
