Everyone loved receiving her dish towels she made with creative themes. Another specialty was her famous peanut brittle, cinnamon hard candy, and cherry mash that people would beg her to make. She made two birthday cakes every year for Delores and Betty since they were born on the same day. She decorated each one beautifully. Vena was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Deer Trail, CO and was baptized in the church. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and was always a great fund raiser with the poppies and the knives she would sell for this organization.
