View Video Tribute Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Vera Elaine Rogers, age 71, died Wednesday November 26, 2008 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington. Vera was born on September 29, 1937 in Hugo to Earl and Beulah Tanner. She was the eldest of five children born to this union. Vera attended and graduated from Genoa High School in 1954. She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Burlington and the Good Sam Club. Preceding in death were her parents, her son David in 1993, three grandchildren; Michael Rogers, Lori Rogers, and Teran Rogers. Also preceding her are two brothers; Lester Tanner and Vernon Tanner and one sister Marjie Mease. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of fifty-three years Harry of their home in Burlington. Two sons; Terry Rogers of Burlington, and Larry Rogers and wife Shari of Burlington, a daughter Cynthia Fletcher-Grindstaff and husband Jerry of Platte City, MO. She is also survived by a sister Betty Hann and husband Fred of Lancaster, CA, seventeen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Vera will be Monday December 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Burlington. Pastor Ray Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Burlington. A visitation will be on Sunday, November 30, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Love Funeral Home in Burlington. Memorials may be made in Vera’s name to the Bethel Assembly of God Church, and may be left at or sent to the First National Bank in Burlington.
