Virlynda Sue Ashcraft was born July 8th, 1961, in Colorado Springs, CO to Donald and Shirley Ashcraft of
Matheson, CO.
Virlynda left this life to be with the Lord at Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Hugo, CO. at
approximately 3:08 AM on March 30th,2024.
Virlynda was raised on a farm and ranch southeast of Matheson. She started school at the Matheson
school, then transferred to Big Sandy school in Simla, CO. She graduated from Big Sandy School in 1980.
She worked at Dairy Freeze in Limon till she graduated, then worked at Soil Conservation in Simla, CO.
She then moved to Colorado Springs, went to Pikes Peak Community College, majoring in accounting and
minoring in computer programming. She then worked at Current Catalog and Lincoln Financial Insurance
in Colorado Springs. She got married to Scott Johnson, quit working to take care of her stepson, Jeremiah Johnson.
Virlynda enjoyed being outside, traveling and loved her cats and dogs. She liked cooking and watching cooking shows,
as well as older shows such as westerns, Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons.
Gospel and country music were some of the kinds that she had a love for.
Her health started to decline, when she got divorced and moved to Limon in 2019.
Her health started to decline more in 2023, she then was moved to Lincoln Community Nursing home.
Virlynda is preceded in death by Donald Ashcraft (Dad), Grandparents Fred and Fern Ashcraft and
Grandparents Dan and Evonna Oller.
Virlynda is survived by Shirley (Oller) Ashcraft (Mom) of Hugo, CO., sisters- Debrah Ashcraft of Matheson,
CO, Marilyn (Ashcraft) & Scotty Bushong of Matheson, CO, Sherri (Ashcraft) & Chad Elliott of Garden City,
KS., 3 nephews, 1 niece, 2 great nephews, 5 great nieces, uncles, aunts and several cousins.
