View Video Tribute V’Yonne (Teater) Black, 79, of Limon, CO passed away on April 14, 2007 in Denver, CO. V’Yonne was born on October 5, 1927 in Jennings, KS to Karl Clarence and Irena Grace (May) Teater one of five children. V’Yonne attended elementary through two years of high school at Jennings and then after the death of her father she went to Oberlin, KS where she graduated from high school. She had taken the normal training course and was therefore qualified to teach school. She taught in rural schools after graduation for two years at Jennings. V’Yonne married Keith Black on December 27, 1945 in Dresden, KS and to this union two children were born. V’Yonne was baptized into the 7th Day Adventist Church on September 9, 1967 where she served as Church Clerk, Treasurer, Christian Education Secretary and Lay Activity Secretary. She loved spending time with her family which included trips to the family cabin at Grand Lake and a trip to Hawaii in 1993. V’Yonne was a Bronco fan and also enjoyed watching the Rockies. V’Yonne was preceded in death by her parents; Karl and Grace Teater, husband Keith, brothers; Karl Jr., Kenneth and Howard, nephews; James and Jerry Graves, niece Monte Teater and grandson Shawn Black. V’Yonne is survived by her children; Dennis and his wife Isabel Black of Beaumont, TX and their children; Nicolas and Mariah Black and Diana and husband Jay Jolly of Hugo, CO and children Jordan Jolly of Northglenn, CO and Cody Jolly of Hugo, CO, one sister Y’Vonne Houghtelling of McCook, NE, in-laws; Edwin and Doris Black, Mildred Black and Gordon Wilson of Oberlin, KS, Veda Heisel of Lenora, KS, Norma Teater of Kansas City, MO, cousins, nieces, nephews, her family at Carla’s Cluster Care and a host of friends. A funeral service for V’Yonne was held Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel in Limon, CO with burial following at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver at 2:00 P.M.
