Waunita I. Simon, 81, of Limon, Colorado passed away in Hugo, Colorado on April 21, 2011. Waunita was born on September 8, 1929 in Rice County, Kansas to Thomas and Elma Ruth (Steinman) Hager one of eight children. She grew up and graduated from Great Bend, Kansas. Waunita married the love of her life, Earl Lee Simon on October 4, 1947 in Canon City, Colorado and the couple was blessed with three daughters. She enjoyed bowling and was on many leagues and teams over the years. Waunita liked to go to Las Vegas where she played black jack and pai gow. She liked watching game shows and one of her favorites was Family Feud. She also liked country music and loved to dance with Earl. Waunita was a self taught musician playing the piano and the guitar. She enjoyed life. Waunita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl, brother Bud and sister Mary. She is survived by her daughters; Shennan (Chris) Solze of Hugo, Colorado, Janet (Ed) McClure of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Cindy Marcellay of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Waunita is also survived by siblings; Zack Hager, Bo Hager, Doloras "Took" Blanchard, Virginia Miller and Velda (Pete) Larson all of Canyon City, Colorado and one grandson, Jess Solze of Hugo, Colorado.
