Wesley Maranville

August 27, 2002 — December 10, 2015

Wesley Stephen Maranville (Bubba), 13, of Matheson, Colorado passed away unexpectedly December 10, 2015 in Simla, Colorado. Wesley was born August 27, 2002 to Scott and Sarah (Coulson) Maranville the second of three children. School was a big part of Wesley’s life. Wes played basketball, football, track and baseball and excelled not only on the court and field but also in the classroom. He was a great friend to those who knew him and a teammate everyone respected on and off the court. Farming was a big aspect of his life. Wes loved driving tractors and combines and as young men often do, he had a close relationship to his Dad and “Papa”. He was always available to help and assist on the farm and learn “the ropes” so to speak. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and enjoyed working alongside his family as they cultivated the land. Wesley was a member of Matheson Community Bible Church where his faith in the Lord grew as a young man. He also participated in 4-H, JH Matchwits and Elbert County Livestock Judging. Wes immensely enjoyed his trips to the mountains with his family and loved fishing and hunting with his Dad. Anyone who truly knew Wes couldn’t argue that “Dukes of Hazard” was probably one of his favorite shows, from the theme song down to the 69 Dodge Charger that was the General Lee. Wes loved that show! Above all else, his family, friends and teammates meant the world to him. He loved his family and had a strong sense of community that he would do anything for. “Bubba’s” light glowed the brightest when he got to spend special time with his “Papas”; they were the best of friends. Bubba was the hero in each of his cousins’ eyes, and the light of their life. Bubba would say that his sisters might have “bothered” him, but that was only to show how much love he had for them in his heart. Wes had a huge impact on anyone who came in contact with him and although his time with us was short he will have an everlasting memory and legacy that will live in everyone forever. Wesley is survived by his parents, Scott and Sarah Maranville; sisters, Riley Lou and Charley Marie Maranville; Great Grandpa Lewis (Liddie) Florey; Grandparents, Jack and Linda Maranville, Bruce and Suzann Coulson and Sue Coulson; Aunts and Uncles, Chad and Cindy Maranville, Barry and Mandy Maranville, Katie and Will White, Sarah and Charlie Fox, and Shad Coulson; Cousins, Kylie, Connor, Sterling, Will, Maddie, David and Wade. Also surviving are numerous extended family, friends and a loving community.
