Wilburn Jaques

View Video Tribute Wilburn Wayne Jaques, age 84 of Genoa passed away June 2, 2009 in Aurora, Colorado. Wilburn was born on July 20, 1924 to Peoble Norman and Lula Jane (Deeds) Jaques in Phillipsburg, Kansas. He was one of nine children born to this union. Wilburn married Adella Mae Kenny on March 6, 1945 in Genoa, Colorado. To this union nine children were born. Wilburn and Adella made their home north of Genoa where they farmed and ranched. He was a talented guitar player and singer. As a teen he was the opening act for Ernest Tubb on a Greeley radio station. Wilburn also did carpentry work as he was on of the contractors who built the Lincoln Community Hospital and the Arriba School. Wilburn attended the Bethel Church of the Brethren. Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Noreen, and Charlotte, brothers Williford, Merrell, Dale, and sister Mareland. Wilburn is survived by his wife Adella of Genoa, CO, children Randy (Janetta) Jaques of Limon, CO, Mark (Diana) Jaques of Genoa, CO, Beverly (Monte) Strode of Flagler, CO, Jeannie (Robert) Wasson of Hugo, CO, Bonnie (Roger) Chamberlin of Crocker, MO, Cathie (Tom) Glass of Page, AZ, and Norma Strode of Buena Vista, CO, siblings Derrell (Mary) Jaques of Arriba, Charles (Doris) Jaques of Arriba, CO, Darrold (Pattie) Jaques of Aurora, CO, Lorrain (Tom) Cash, and Georgia Eckley of Riverton, WY. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild on the way. A funeral service for Wilburn Wayne Jaques will be held Friday ~ June 5, 2009 ~ 10:30 A.M. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel ~ Limon, Colorado. Visitation will be held Thursday ~ June 4, 2009 from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home Limon, Colorado.
