Longtime Stratton, Colorado resident, Willa B. Peters passed away on April 26, 2014 at the Hallmark Nursing Home in Denver, Colorado. She was 75 years old.
She was born on March 13, 1939 to Alvin Draper Johnson and Velma Fern Robertson in Smith Center, Kansas. She was one of eight children born to this union.
She attended school in Bethune and Burlington.
Willa met and later married Donald Elmer Peters on September 2, 1957 in Clayton, New Mexico. To this union there were two children born; Theresa and Rick.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales, and spending time with her dog Chipper. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doing crafts and collecting jewelry and reading books.
Willa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers; Johnny Joe Johnson and James Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, son; Rick and his wife Lori Peters of Dallas, Texas, daughter; Theresa and her husband Dean Headley of Burlington, Colorado, four grandchildren; Jesse, Cody, Alexa and Luke. Also surviving her are her two brothers; Ray and his wife Sharon Johnson of Littleton, Colorado, Gerald and his wife Shirley Johnson of Burlington, Colorado, her three sisters; Geraldine Busby of Burlington, Colorado, Bonnie and her husband Denny Moorhead of Brule, Nebraska, Lauana and her husband Ron Ivancik of Westland, Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
