Willadean Allen

Willadean Allen, age 90, of Hugo, CO passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 in Hugo. Willadean was born November 30, 1924 in Hugo to parents William and Orpha (Buhr) Boetger. Willadean grew up in Hugo, graduating from Hugo High School in 1943. She then went on to attend business school in Denver. It was during this time, while working at the Federal Center in Denver, that Willadean met Newton Allen. Willadean married Newton E. Allen on December 26, 1946 in Denver, CO. To this union three children were born. The family made their home near Hugo where Newton farmed. Willadean was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society. She worked for Kay’s Korner Store and Male and Mate Clothing Store. Her hobbies included needlework and crocheting, as well as traveling. Willadean loved her grandchildren and deeply enjoyed her time spent with them. She also spent time helping on the farm when needed. Willadean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Newton Allen; daughter, Susan Morgan and son in law Larry Morgan. She is survived by her son Mike (Angie) Allen of Knoxville, TN; daughter Kathy (Dennis) Tomlin of Castle Rock, CO; sisters Jeannie (Leo) Webber of Royce City, TX and Myrna Bernard of Butte, MT; her six grandchildren: Karyn, Krista, Travis, Matt, Jessica and Brandon; as well as four great grandchildren Lauren Taylor, Christian, Kaizlyn, and Jack.
