Willard Loutzenhiser

Willard Lee Loutzenhiser was born in Denver, Colorado on February 7, 1933 to Lester and Mary Loutzenhiser. He was the eldest of 7 children. He attended Shiloh Country School through the sixth grade and received his high school equivalent at a later age. On January 9, 1955 he married the love of his life Edith Helderman. To this union two children were born, Carolyn Louise and Daniel Lee. After they were married they lived north of Flagler until they relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1960 to pursue a new career opportunity. In 1970 they moved back to Flagler until one year later when they moved to Burlington. He soon became the head custodian at the Burlington Middle School for the next 25 years. Throughout his career Willard was known as “Mr. Fix It” and always enjoyed helping others. Willard was dedicated to his church family at the First Baptist Church until later years when his health deteriorated. Throughout his life he displayed the true character of a born again Christian and unwavering faith. After retiring Willard and Edie loved going to spend time with their children and grandchildren. They were so dedicated to their family that you would rarely find them at home. Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Mary Loutzenhiser; three brother in laws; Duane Charles, Dean Nichols and Robert Helderman; infant great grandson Samuel Stout. He is survived by his loving wife Edith; children Carolyn Jacobs, Denver, Co; Daniel Loutzenhiser, Littleton, Co; Grandchildren; Diana Stout (Will) McCall, Kelley Stout, Jonathan Stout; Great Grandchildren; Brianna McCall, Payten McCall, Fayth McCall and Jonathan Stout (Jr). He is also survived by his six sisters and families and three sister in laws and their families.
