William Lofdahl

William Cody Lofdahl, 68 of Karval, CO passed away on December 23, 2007. Cody was born on March 4, 1939 in Hugo, CO to Roy and Rachel (Cooper) Lofdahl. He and his brother Jim became the men of the house as teenagers when their father passed away unexpectedly. Rachel and the boys pulled together to keep the ranch and the family homestead together through very difficult times. Cody attended Karval High School and graduated in 1957. Cody had two children, Kurt and Lisa. He loved them dearly and his greatest pride and joy was their accomplishments. He worked side by side with Kurt each day on the ranch and together they strived to better their herd and increase their yield. Cody also enjoyed keeping track of Lisa with her various moves and endeavors and visited her in each far-flung place she called home. Cody enjoyed farming and the independence of farm life. He liked to keep to himself but was quick to lend a hand to a neighbor or stranger in need. Cody is survived by his children, son Kurt and Kurt’s wife Shelly Lofdahl of Karval and daughter Lisa Lofdahl of Brooklyn, NY. His is also survived by his brother Jim and Jim’s wife Shirley Lofdahl of Karval and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Cody will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007, 1:00 P.M. at the Karval School in Karval. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hugo.
