Windy Nagel

Harold “Windy” Dean Nagel age 87 of Limon, Colorado passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Central Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born April 9, 1925 in Peetz, Colorado the youngest of nine siblings and the son of Ferdinand and Carrie (Murry) Nagel. When he was four years old, a hired hand nicknamed him “Windy” because he talked so much. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1956. Harold was a member of the V.F.W. Joe Will Post #6612, Hugo, Colorado 80821. April 5, 1953 Harold was united in marriage to Dorothy E. Nickell. They have shared over fifty-nine years of marriage. To this union they shared two children, David Craig and Sherri Dawn. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, bronc riding in rodeos, and racing his Indian Chief. He also enjoyed bowling, collecting coins, lottery and of course his beer. Windy will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and this community that he loved so much. His hard work and his character will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Hilda Stewart, Alice Ehman, Helen Lambert, and Laverne Fields; five brothers, Clifford, Fritz, Lou, David, and Howard Nagel. Windy is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy of the home; his son David Craig Nagel (Cathleen) of Orem, Utah; his daughter Sherri Dawn (Dennis) of Limon, Colorado; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his favorite dog, Snowball.
