Winifred M. Williams of Limon, CO passed away December 27, 2005 in Hugo, CO. Winifred was born on September 4, 1921 to Fred and Anna (Brockway) Schneider in Hugo, Colorado. She was one of two children. She graduated from Hugo High School in 1939 and married John “Jack� Williams on June 8, 1940 in Hugo, CO. The object of their affection was their daughter; JacquaLee (Williams) Swennes. Winifred was a very involved woman. She was a member of the Hugo United Methodist Church and the Hugo United Methodist Women. She was a member of Eastern Star, Colorado Business Women’s Association, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Lincoln County Historical Society. Winifred enjoyed listening to books on tape, reading and worked at the library for a while. She loved to cook. She enjoyed yard work and always loved decorating the house for the holidays. One of Winifred’s favorite pastimes was discussing the history of Lincoln County. She worked in Colorado Springs from 1965-1977 and upon retiring she moved back to Hugo, CO. Winifred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister; Alberta Jones. Winifred is survived by her loving daughter; JacquaLee and her husband Jack Swennes of Matheson, CO, three grandchildren; Heath and wife Karrie Swennes of Sterling, CO, Dane and wife Brandy Swennes of Colorado Springs, CO and Bret and Sammi Swennes of Ramah, CO, six great-grandchildren; Allie and Hayden Swennes of Sterling, CO, Taylor and Zachery Swennes of Colorado Springs, CO and John Thomas and William Lee Swennes of Ramah, CO numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at the Hugo United Methodist Church in Hugo, CO with Rev. Olga Hard officiating. Burial followed immediately at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hugo, CO. Memorials may be made to Hugo United Methodist Church P.O. Box 386, Hugo, CO 80821.
